13-year-old faces charges after riding dirtbike on sidewalks, running red lights, disrupting traffic

A 13-year-old is facing charges after nearly hitting pedestrians while riding on the sidewalk, police said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A 13-year-old boy is facing charges relating to racing down roads and sidewalks, nearly hitting pedestrians, in Montgomery County.

A group of children were driving dirt bikes recklessly around Arlington Road and Bethesda Avenue around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD). The group sped off toward Elm Street.
