FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A Fairfax County police officer has been placed on leave while he’s under investigation for two counts of aggravated sexual battery in Fauquier County.
The Fauquier County sheriff’s office took Sergeant Matthew Sylvester, 40, of Warrenton into custody around 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Investigators say Sylvester is accused of crimes against two victims. They declined to say what the victims’ relation is to him, noting only that they are familiar
