MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews were able to save three people who were hanging on a tree after their boat crashed in the Potomac River early Saturday morning.

Crews responded to reports of a boat crashing into a tree near Poolesville after midnight.

When crews from Montgomery County, Fairfax County, and Loudoun County arrived at Ten Food Island in the area of Riley’s Lock, they found the three people hanging onto a tree
