DC Public Schools held a math competition at Garnet-Patterson Academy, where Jackson-Reed High triumphed, advancing to the upcoming citywide finals at Nationals Park
WASHINGTON — DC Public Schools hosted a high school math competition on Wednesday, inviting teams representing schools across the District.
The task, solve as many math questions as possible within 45 minutes. The competition was held at Garnet-Patterson S.T.A.Y Opportunity Academy.
Teams had to use strategy, accuracy, and speed to answer questions covering quadratics, probability, trigonometry, 2D and 3D geometry, and inequalities. Jackson-Reed High School’s math team came in first place.
