Fort Washington Park remains closed after 9 explosive devices are found

The ATF said Monday that initial findings indicate that the devices were not recently planted.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Fort Washington Park remains closed after investigators reportedly found nearly 10 pipe bombs in a wooded area earlier this week.

U.S. Park Police told WUSA9 Sunday evening that two suspicious packages were found at the park shortly before 2:15 p.m. The park was evacuated and closed while a search unfolded. USPP found another three explosive devices on Sunday, all of which were rendered safe.
