Second tree falls on National Park Service roadway in 10 days

Monday, the NPS says three cars were hit by a fallen tree on Piney Branch Parkway NW in DC. One person was taken to the hospital.

WASHINGTON — The National Park Service says Monday, a tree fell and damaged multiple vehicles on a busy stretch of National Park Service Roadway. It’s the second time a tree fell onto an NPS roadway in ten days.

Monday morning, a fallen tree closed a section of Piney Branch Parkway until around 4:15 p.m. Rock Creek Park says the tree fell Monday morning, “disrupting traffic all day.”
