WASHINGTON — It has been 37 days since a section of the Potomac Interceptor collapsed, sending sewage into the Potomac River.

Crews have been working to repair the interceptor ever since. On Monday, D.C. Water and health officials say it will be safe for boats to return to the water — and for people to walk their dogs along the river.

But at a community meeting — the first one — it was standing room only
