CENTREVILLE, Va. — Some families in Centreville are back in their homes for the first time in days after a gas leak triggered a fiery explosion over the weekend, but dozens of others remain displaced as investigators work to locate the source of the leak.
Fairfax County fire officials say a gas leak caused the explosion, which damaged homes and prompted evacuations in the neighborhood. The gas line involved belongs to Washington Gas.
