
A woman’s body was found wrapped in material on the side a road in west Phoenix on Feb. 6, officials said.
Police officers found an object that appeared to be a body at about 10:49 p.m. near 55th Avenue and Broadway Road, according to a Phoenix police news release.
Officers could not initially determine what the object was, noting it was wrapped in large amounts of material, the release stated. Out of an abundance of caution, detectives began gathering evidence in the area, police said.

After several hours, the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner took custody of the wrapped remains.
