DC Water closes lanes of Northwest road due to ‘imminent risk of collapse’

The closure could last through the end of the week, according to officials. Here’s what we know.

WASHINGTON — All northbound lanes of 14th Street Northwest between L Street Northwest and Thomas Circle are closed to traffic. D.C. Water crews say the road is at risk of collapse due to a century-old abandoned sewer tunnel beneath the road.
